Junior FX artist | 2023 – 2024
City| Roma, Italy
I started my career at Rainbow CGI after completing an intensive one-year training course at Rainbow Academy. During the course, I gained a comprehensive understanding of the production pipeline, covering modules ranging from environment and character modeling to surfacing, rigging, blendshape, grooming, FX, lighting, and VFX. The course also included the development of a group project, allowing us to create a complete 3D animation product in just four weeks, with strict weekly deadlines.
After completing the course, I immediately joined the FX department at Rainbow CGI. My first project was “Mermaid Magic,” where I worked for seven months experimenting with various types of FX, such as FLIP, Pyro, Vellum, RBD, POP and more. During this time, I significantly improved my skills with Houdini software and I learned how to manage the needs and challenges of different departments, ensuring a smooth production flow. I was fortunate to collaborate with a team of highly talented FX artists who guided me through this initial professional experience.
Following “Mermaid Magic,” I moved on to a new challenge: “Gormiti The New Era,” a live-action series. In this project, I worked closely with the post-production and compositing departments, learning to understand their needs and how to make their work more efficient. Creating realistic magical effects that seamlessly integrated with the footage was a stimulating and formative experience
